Commissioner Johnny Wilson is a retired firefighter, small business owner and family man. He worked over thirty years as a firefighter – including 20+ years in Henry County – before retiring in 2013. He has also owned small residential contracting businesses. His experience as a firefighter and knowledge as a residential home builder equip him to best represent southern Henry County.
Johnny and his wife, Donna, have called Locust Grove home since 1996. Together, they have three daughters and seven grandchildren. Johnny was born and raised in nearby Conyers, and has always considered the south side of Atlanta home.
Commissioner Wilson is committed to representing the people of Henry County district 1. He puts transportation and public safety first, while voting no on expensive park projects. You will often find Johnny talking on the phone with one of his constituents to hear their concerns and he proactively works to address them.
Rural land is one of Henry County’s best assets. Commissioner WIlson is committed to preserving farm land by requiring large lots for new homes. He opposes apartments and townhomes in southern Henry County, and he has actively worked to ensure our future land use map does not support their construction.
